The Betta Renata is one of the family of the Waseri Betta group but has some different characteristics.

On the Renata's throat, this Betta fish has a kidney-shaped blackish line mark.

It also displays faint vertical looking black stripes on its dorsal as well as the caudal fin interradial fish membranes.

However, the Betta Renata doesn't have the darker distal looking border on its anal flowing fin.

Another thing about the Betta Renata is it's among the largest of Bettas and grows to approximately 8.5 centimeters in length.

Various Differences

Betta Renata's thrive in dark waters that run in from peat swamp forests.

You can also find Betta Renata's in stagnant water. Mainly in water areas that's collected from a flood run off.

Usually this produces darker water due to the build-up of excess plant debris and fallen logs.

The Betta Renata's water usually contains a lot of tannin very similar to the color of tea.

Likes To Live In Dark Colored Water

As you might expect the pH ranhge is very low at approximately 4.1.

These swamp type areas are located in the northern district of Jambi, nearest to the swamp forest known as Pematang Lumut.

Also the swamp forests of the region known as Rantau Panjang which is located in most northern part of northeast Jambi.
